HOMESICK

     By: Adjetey Emmanuel
Having been away from home for a decade
Just trying to be far now living in the glade.
Staying far-away from home isn’t an easy task
Now my only source of survival is the rusk.

This feeling now makes me feel homesick.
Whenever I set my eyes on this flying tick
How I wish I could forever have these pleasant memories in my dreams
Recalling the best times spent with my families and my teams

Now my only comrades are the thorns and the flowers,
So, I spend all my hours starring at the trees thinking they’re towers
Walking in the forest and wading alone in this river.
Besides makes me to quiver and shiver.

I know I deserve this feeling since it’s my fault
But! I also believe this feeling will one day comes to a halt
Yes! There’s no place like home.
Hence, I will someday be at home enjoying my pome.

"AFFAIRS OF THE WORLD"

 People live in societies with no compassion;
Since the world has been a place of condition.
Women and children are now less privileged,
They suffer from individuals as a result of society misjudge.

Youth of this world are no longer reckoned
Their dreams and aspirations are therefore shuttered.
The future of every nation rest on the teeming youth;
But, youth are no more considered in any social mobility.

Affairs of the world is now based on social class
Intelligent youth with no rich background are shunned
To live in abject poverty.
Social welfares are now into class divisions
The ‘Haves’ in societies now don’t mingle with the ‘Have-nots’.
The fates of the ‘Have nots are only known by the Supreme Being.

Activities of the societies are now controlled by rich men.
The poor have no say in any societal discussions
Their opinions are considered as inferiors.
The voices of them have been suppressed by the wealth of some people
Hence, they only sit on the fence to observe on the affairs of the world.

SO MANY RIVERS TO CROSS

I have reached a stage in life, where going forward is perilous, flinging back is cowardice, remaining still is suicidal but I will persevere.
Life is a war which must be fought in many battles, our arms and ammunitions are our brains and he who has most wins the day.
My people, no man is born without fortune. But fortune’s advent is unpredictable; it is true some are born with golden spoon in their mouth. But the will to fight is greater than all.
Those who make history are those who know how to go with the tide of time. We are on a hunting expedition and we all hope to come home with elephants.
Hence, he who aims at an animal must hold his breathe lest he misses his target.
.......the struggle of a man begins after birth.......
